General Superintendent

Preston Contractors, Inc., an established and growing company in the Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a General Superintendent to join our team. This position requires a strong technical and practical background in the surface support of underground mining, heavy civil construction, and related fields. A Qualified Candidate will :

• Be responsible for safety, quality and budgets for their area of mine and construction operations.
• Collaborate with Senior Managers, other Superintendents, and their frontline supervisors to control mine and construction operations.
• Coordinate work according to priorities and plans.
• Allocate daily and general responsibilities in addition to communicating with engineers and management about site projects and progress.
• Responsible for the workers, equipment, tools and materials in mine operations.
• Prepare and approve plans, delegate work to their teams, oversee progress, solve problems, and take corrective action when needed.
• Prepare daily reports and briefs on production, safety, progress on projects and more.
• Lead and participate in meetings and briefings.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees, with support from frontline supervisors and HR Specialists.
• Have a proven safety record, following all company safety policies.

Requirements :

• Minimum 5 years of relevant operations experience as a heavy civil supervisor.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and email.
• Willingness to lead in a diverse environment.

Preferred :

• General understanding of AutoCAD and Field Surveying
• MSHA Part 48 training
