Job Description

Asst. Pulp Mill Superintendent•
WY and Recaust The Opportunity:
The Assistant Pulp Mill Superintendent provides daily leadership for the Woodyard and Recaust departments, ensuring alignment with production objectives and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. This role is responsible for implementing and sustaining management systems that drive continuous improvement across process areas, while building strong partnerships with adjacent production teams to support an integrated mill strategy. The position reports directly to the Pulp Mill Superintendent. How you will impact
Smurfit WestRock:
  • Provide leadership to the Woodyard and Recaust areas of the mill
  • Meets objectives that are set to meet the goals of the business.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicator trends.
  • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions to ensure goals are met.
  • Set expectations and hold both teams and individuals accountable for results.
  • Responsibilities include daily management of the operations.
  • Provide support to the Pulp Mill Operations Maintenance Coordinator to ensure operational and maintenance activities are scheduled, coordinated, and executed to drive process and equipment reliability.
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor\u2019s degree from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience within the paperboard industry pulping operations.
  • Supervisory or management experience required.
  • Knowledge of Woodyard and Recaust operations preferred.
