This individual will oversee operations, staff leadership, project delivery, and client development for a rapidly growing office serving both public and private-sector clients across Central and South Texas. Position Overview The Department Manager will be responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of the San Antonio geotechnical department. Key Responsibilities The Department Manager will: Direct and oversee the geotechnical department's day-to-day operations, including staffing, workload management, quality control, and project execution. Lead technical oversight for geotechnical investigations, field programs, laboratory testing interpretation, analyses, and engineering recommendations. Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with clients across transportation, municipal, industrial, energy, and commercial development sectors. Support and guide business development efforts, proposal strategy, and market expansion throughout Central and South Texas. Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, profitability, and financial performance. Collaborate with regional leadership on strategic planning and company-wide initiatives. Mentor, develop, and grow engineering staff to strengthen technical capabilities and promote internal advancement.
