This is not a tutoring, childcare, camp counseling, or general mentoring position. We are looking for a professional with a strong understanding of ADHD and executive functioning who can help a teenager develop independence, accountability, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and real-world life skills. The ideal candidate has experience working directly with adolescents with ADHD and understands how executive functioning challenges impact daily life, school performance, relationships, motivation, and follow-through. Equally important, this individual can partner with parents to create effective systems, routines, and expectations that support long-term success. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one executive function coaching for a teenager with ADHD. Help develop systems for organization, planning, prioritization, and time management. Support task initiation, follow-through, accountability, and independent problem-solving. Help build routines and habits that promote academic, social, and personal success. Coach emotional regulation, self-advocacy, decision-making, and resilience. Establish clear expectations, boundaries, and accountability structures. Partner with parents to implement effective ADHD and executive functioning strategies at home. Communicate and collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals when appropriate. Provide transportation for school pickup, activities, appointments, and other approved commitments. Accompany the student on occasional local and out-of-town trips, including occasional overnight travel. Strong understanding of ADHD, executive dysfunction, motivation, working memory, emotional regulation, task initiation, and time management. Experience helping teens develop independence, responsibility, and self-management skills. Experience working collaboratively with parents and families. Preferred Qualifications ADHD coaching certification (ADDCA, PAAC, JST Coaching, or similar). Background in psychology, counseling, social work, behavioral health, occupational therapy, executive function coaching, or related fields. Experience supporting high school students and young adults. Familiarity with evidence-based ADHD interventions and executive functioning strategies. Important Note We are specifically seeking candidates with substantial ADHD and executive functioning experience. Applicants whose experience is primarily limited to tutoring, camp counseling, classroom aide positions, childcare, or general youth mentoring may not be the best fit unless they also possess significant ADHD-specific coaching or executive functioning expertise. Have you coached or trained parents/families on ADHD-related strategies? Please provide examples. Are you comfortable providing transportation, including school pickup and occasional overnight travel?
