The Orchestra's Board of Directors seeks a proven executive to lead and manage a strong regional orchestra in a vibrant, growing Front Range Colorado city and surrounding community that has significant growth and interest potential. The Organization The LSO presents approximately 16 performances per year (6 Mainstage concerts at Vance Brand Civic Auditorium; 1 free July 4th concert; chamber music concerts; a Holiday performance; two full performances of The Nutcracker with the Boulder Ballet, plus a shortened Gentle Nutcracker for individuals with special needs and their families; and a pair of concerts for all St. Vrain Valley School District 5th graders), and has an active education and outreach program, with an annual budget of approximately $700,000. This upcoming season will be the LSO's 60th Anniversary season, a unique opportunity to celebrate the long history of the organization while establishing an exciting vision for the future. The Position The Executive Director serves as the organization's Chief Executive Officer. The position requires managing all human and financial resources to ensure the Symphony successfully achieves its mission, vision, and goals by developing effective fundraising and marketing strategies, ensuring sustained financial growth, artistic vibrancy, education outreach, and community engagement. The Executive Director, along with the Music Director, report to the Board of Directors. Roles & Responsibilities The Executive Director will be responsible for: Executing the mission, vision, policies, and goals established by the Board of Directors. Supervising and supporting all administrative staff. Collaborating with and supporting the Music Director to achieve artistically and financially successful performances. Developing and implementing a multi-year strategic organizational plan in collaboration with the Music Director and Board of Directors. Managing all aspects of the organization's operations, including ticket sales, programming, budgeting, invoicing, venue contracts, and human resources. Responsible for negotiating and overseeing all guest artist contracts, travel, accommodations, and logistics. Assuring adequate financial resources to successfully achieve the orchestra's priorities. Taking a leadership role with the Philanthropy Committee in creating, implementing, and evaluating fundraising strategies. Researching, writing, and submitting all grant applications and reports. Cultivating a dedicated donor base to meet short and long-term financial goals. Engaging and nurturing patrons and season ticket holders, the LSO Guild, and volunteers. Cultivating community relationships including local school districts and music educators to enhance youth involvement in orchestral music. Working with the Board of Directors to set up and attend committee meetings as requested. Qualifications BA/MA in Arts Administration or closely related field. At least three years of senior management experience in a non-profit organization. Working knowledge of orchestral music operations preferred, but not critical. Demonstrated success in building and nurturing positive relationships with patrons and donors. Experience in designing and leading non-profit development strategies and fundraising campaigns. Passion for building and nurturing symphonic music throughout the greater Longmont community. Solid financial management experience and budgeting skills. Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, and creativity. Experience with Quickbooks, Constant Contact, Canva, Google Suite. The ideal candidate will reside within 20 miles of downtown Longmont. Key Competencies Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to foster a collaborative and positive work environment. Passion for orchestral and performing arts organizations and community-centered programming. Compensation Salary range is $70-80K depending upon qualifications and experience. Full Time.
