Job Description
Overview Osceola History is in a unique position in that it neighbors Walt Disney World. As a result, it serves both its local community and the million tourists that visit the nearby area every year. We have two facilities open to the public: The Osceola County Welcome Center and Museum and the Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek. We also have a by appointment only Spence Research Center. The organization hosts several public events and exhibitions throughout the year, both fundraising and community, and also hosts private events such as weddings and birthdays. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape impactful programs, foster meaningful relationships within the community, and oversee the overall operations of our organization. As a motivational leader, you will inspire staff, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services that promote independence and well-being for those we serve. Your energetic approach will drive growth, innovation, and positive change across all facets of our organization. Duties The Executive Director is responsible for the leadership and management of the organization. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to develop a short-term and long-term strategic plan, and the Executive Director is tasked with implementing those plans. The Executive Director is also tasked with the financial security of the organization by ensuring the budget is closely followed and seeking out additional funding such as grants and sponsorships. The Executive Director will serve as the face of the organization and will be expected to become involved in the local community, specifically with the local chambers of commerce, other historical organizations, and other not for profits. The Executive Director must be an excellent communicator, financially astute, able to manage a diverse group of customer representative and professional staff, and must embrace diversity and flexibility in their pursuit to inspire staff, volunteers, patrons, donors, our local community, and those visiting our area from around the globe. This position will require substantial participation at events on evenings and weekends.
Qualifications Education:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree or requisite experience; Master's Degree preferred. Degrees in business management, not for profit management, public administration, organizational leadership, and similar degree paths preferred. Proven management experience with a track record of leading diverse teams in a nonprofit setting. Extensive administrative experience including budgeting, reporting, and organizational oversight. Supervising experience with a focus on staff development, performance management, and team motivation. Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.Pay:
