Job Description

Community Action of Southeast Iowa is hiring an Executive Director. The agency covers a four-county service area, including Des Moines, Henry, Lee, and Louisa counties. It administers many programs, including Head Start, Early Head Start, LIHEAP, FaDSS, Weatherization, WIC, and local food pantries. The ideal candidate is one who is a strategic and forward-thinking visionary, able to successfully lead and inspire an Agency of 130 staff. The candidate must have senior leadership experience with knowledge of preparing and monitoring budgets, working with multiple funding sources, and administering grants. In addition, skills for building successful partnerships, working with a Board of Directors, delivering effective presentations, and an interest and understanding of the needs of a low-income population are also required.
Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a B.S. or B.A. in public administration, business, human services, or social work with five years of administrative experience, including directing or managing a public or private non-profit or human services program, or at least ten years of leadership experience at a Community Action Agency. Community Action or non-profit experience is preferred.
