ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
Alpha Prison Ministries is a nonprofit, Christ-centered organization dedicated to mentoring and discipling men who are prisoners or former inmates re-entering society. We do this in 3 ways: In-prison, one-on-one discipleship training. Our volunteers run a weekly program inside 5 Michigan prisons using a curriculum that teaches the fundamentals Christianity and the truths of scripture. Transitional housing for men coming out of prison and adjusting to life in the real world. We have 2 transitional housing locations and provide our residents help locating food, transportation, and a job. Mentoring of ex-offenders occurs with each resident of our transitional housing. Weekly Bible study and life skills coaching is provided to each man in our program.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Alpha Prison Ministries will take the lead role in administering and executing the mission and vision of
APM. RESPONSIBILITIES
: Administration and oversight of the Alpha residence houses (2), and coordination of all volunteer activities Maintain correspondence with inmates who are inquiring about APM or who are seeking counselling which will benefit incarcerated believer. Identify, screen and onboard new Alpha House residents. Conduct weekly mentoring and discipling meetings with each Alpha House resident, and/or coordinate the efforts of volunteers to accomplish this task. Work collaboratively with the board to cast vision, clarify organizational goals, and determine strategy. Build a positive culture of faith that attracts quality board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and participants in APM's programs. Oversee annual fund development plan creation and execution, including the annual banquet. Identify and engage new individuals, corporations, churches, schools, and others as future donors, volunteers, and partners. Retain and further develop existing donor and partner relationships. Create community awareness of APM's mission and programs by sharing in various settings including occasional public speaking engagements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Committed follower of Jesus Christ Excellent organizational and communication skills Basic computer skills to include MS Office programs and email Act and speak regularly with humility and authenticity Ability to teach and vigorously enforce expectations for the Alpha house residents Previous experience in leading an organization or major department Knowledge of and a passion for theology, spiritual development, and pastoral counseling Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Alpha Prison Ministries offers a salary and compensation that is competitive with similar-sized nonprofits in the area.
