Job Description

The Executive Director will provide strategic, operational, and programmatic leadership for EDHRC, overseeing housing initiatives, financial literacy programs, and community development efforts. This role is highly task-oriented and execution-driven, requiring a leader who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, secure funding through grants, and drive real estate development projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide vision and leadership aligned with EDHRC's mission Develop and execute strategic plans for organizational growth Build partnerships with municipalities, lenders, developers, and community organizations 2. Grant Writing & Fund Development Identify, write, and manage federal, state, and private grant opportunities Lead funding strategies including AHP, CDBG, philanthropic, and corporate funding Manage grant compliance, reporting, and outcomes tracking Cultivate relationships with funders, foundations, and financial institutions 3. Real Estate Development Oversight Lead affordable housing and workforce housing development initiatives Oversee projects from pre-development through construction and disposition Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and municipalities Align development projects with funding requirements and community impact goals Support innovative models such as lease-to-own and modular housing 4. Project Management & Execution Manage multiple programs and development projects simultaneously Develop timelines, budgets, and deliverables for all initiatives Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget Implement systems for tracking performance, milestones, and outcomes 5. Program Development & Implementation Expand financial literacy and homeownership education programs Integrate education services into housing initiatives Oversee workshops, seminars, and community outreach efforts (as outlined in current programming) 6. Operations & Team Management Recruit, manage, and develop staff and consultants Establish a high-performance, accountability-driven culture Oversee daily operations, policies, and procedures 7. Community Engagement & Partnerships Serve as a public-facing leader and advocate for affordable housing Build partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations Represent EDHRC at events, panels, and public forums 8. Financial & Budget Oversight Develop and manage organizational and program budgets Ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability Oversee financial reporting and compliance Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (Business, Finance, Urban Planning, or related field; Master's preferred) 5-10+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, housing, or community development Experience with housing counseling or financial literacy programs Background in workforce housing or mixed-income development Established relationships with local, state, or federal funding agencies Proven experience in: Grant writing and fundraising Project management Real estate development or housing programs Strong understanding of: Affordable housing programs (LIHTC, CDBG, HOME, etc.) Community development and housing policy Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Lead transformative housing initiatives in underserved communities Directly impact wealth-building through homeownership Work on innovative projects including workforce housing corridors and modular development Be at the forefront of solving housing affordability challenges
Pay:
$30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
