Job Description

The Warrensburg Schools Foundation is hiring an Executive Director to lead the organization in advancing its mission of supporting Warrensburg R-VI School District students, teachers, and staff through scholarships, classroom grants, and signature events. Over the past 15 years WSF has grown roughly 10x — today holding ~$1.5M in assets and running two major fundraising events annually. The Executive Director is the public face of the Foundation and reports to the Board of Directors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fundraising & Donor Relations (35%) — major gifts, corporate sponsorship, planned giving, grant pursuit, and expanding the donor/alumni network
  • Signature Event Leadership (20%) — Dinner & Auction, Todd Hamann Memorial Golf Tournament, Academic Excellence Banquet
  • Foundation Operations & Finance (15%) — budget management, financial review, 990 filing
  • Scholarship & Grant Programs (10%) — senior scholarships, teacher/staff awards, classroom grants
  • Board & Committee Support (10%)
  • Marketing & Communications (5%)
  • Staff Leadership (5%) — supervise part-time Assistant Director
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, education, business, or related field
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible nonprofit leadership, development, or education administration experience
  • Demonstrated success in major-gift fundraising and event sponsorship
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking
  • Must reside in Johnson County, MO or be willing to relocate
PREFERRED
  • Experience with donor CRM (Salesforce/Affinaquest) or fundraising software (Greater Giving)
  • K-12 education background
  • Grant-writing experience
  • Experience building alumni or regional donor networks
COMPENSATION
Competitive, commensurate with experience. Full-time, on-site. Benefits package included.
