Job Description

Position Summary The American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota (ACDA-MN) is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the robust choral tradition that makes Minnesota the "Land of 10,000 Choirs." Our mission is to support and inspire choral directors and musicians of all ages throughout the state through performance opportunities, education, and professional development. ACDA-MN is looking to hire an Associate Director who will play a key leadership role in advancing the organization's mission. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Associate Director will support communication and development strategies, program development, and operational management. This role requires a passionate leader with experience in nonprofit management and music education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications (50%) • Communication initiatives Create and coordinate organizational communication strategies Create promotional and fundraising materials, such as the fall letter campaign, annual report, and event brochures, as needed. Manage and edit photos/videos assets for use in social media, e-newsletters, print materials, etc. • Technical Support Support and maintain website and all website-related content. Assist ACDA-MN membership with use of website, i.e. event registration, donations, etc. Provide Google Workspace support; administer accounts, users, and permissions. Manage Weekly Pulse e-newsletter, including distribution and editing content, such as job postings and advertisements. Provide technical support and assistance to ACDA-MN board, staff, and volunteers. 2. Development (30%) • Support fundraisers and development initiatives. Assist the Executive Director in achieving fund development goals, as requested. With the Executive Director, manage gift solicitations, marketing, and sponsorships. Assist in development, marketing, and implementation of two fundraising campaigns throughout the year. Support in the research of potential funding opportunities, such as grants. 3. Community Engagement (20%) • Develop and implement the creation of new membership and community engagement programs, in conjunction with the Executive Director. • Provide administrative support for existing in-person events, such as the State Conference, Summer Dialogue, Golden Voices Festival, and the Honor Choir program. Job requirements and qualifications Previous experience in nonprofit administration, in particular in the areas of fundraising, communications, and website development and support. Experience with WordPress, MailChimp, Google Workspace, Square, PayPal, Canva, Quickbooks Online, among others. Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills. Basic knowledge of best SEO practices and tools. Attention to detail. Creative thinker and problem solver. Good organizational and time-management skills. Great interpersonal and communication skills. Education and Experience Minimum - High school diploma or GED; Preferred - Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field, 3 or more years of website and related technical management experience, 3 or more years of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit setting, Familiarity with choral music education is a plus. Working Conditions and Environment This position is a contracted work-from-home position. This position will include limited evening and/or weekend hours for meetings/events, and will require the ability to be on-site for a limited number of meetings/events. This position involves sitting for extended periods of time. This position requires extended periods of time working at a computer monitor and keyboarding.
