- Part-time, Full-time, Contract About CBDRG is a collaborative network of non-profit, faith-based, and government organizations working as long-term recovery partners to assist the community with disaster recovery efforts following federally declared disasters across an 11-county service area.
Flexible Work Schedule:
The Executive Director position is part-time with flexible scheduling to meet both organizational needs and the candidate's availability. There is strong potential for the role to transition to full-time for a candidate who demonstrates initiative and strong performance, as funding grows, and programs expand.Remote Work Eligibility:
This position is eligible for remote work. Some in-office time, in-person meetings, community engagements, and site visits are required (40%); however, most administrative and leadership duties (60%) may be performed remotely. Permanent residency within the service area is required.Collaborative Environment:
The Executive Director works closely with community partners, nonprofit agencies, government entities, and volunteer groups across the Coastal Bend region. This role requires an outgoing, people-oriented leader with strong communication skills, a proactive "go-getter" mindset, and the ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead effectively in a hybrid or remote-first environment. Position Overview The Executive Director leads and advances CBDRG's mission by directing all daily operations. This role actively oversees case management services, construction and repair programs, volunteer and donation coordination, finance and grant writing, public relations, fundraising, and unmet‑needs assistance.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing operational policies, programs, and training events that support preparedness, response, and long‑term recovery.
- Serve as CBDRG's chief development and fundraising officer.
- Attend all Board meetings and act as a staff resource to the Board of Directors.
- Assist in preparing board meeting agendas and informational packages for board members.
- Ensure meeting agenda and any attachments/minutes are provided to board members prior to board meetings, with copies provided at the board meeting.
- Lead CBDRG's public relations and community outreach initiatives.
- Strengthen partnerships with other Long‑Term Recovery organizations.
- Provide ongoing statistical and narrative reporting on programs, operations, and finances to the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with coalitions, government agencies, community organizations, and communities served by CBDRG.
- Supervise CBDRG employees and contractors.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of administrative management experience in a nonprofit, government, emergency management, disaster recovery, or related organization.Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; however, an equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, leadership roles, and demonstrated competencies may substitute for formal academic credentials.
- Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, and community stakeholders.
- Strong experience working with boards of directors, including preparing agendas, reports, and serving as a staff liaison.
- Experience supervising staff, contractors, and/or volunteers, with the ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, reporting, and community outreach.
- Proven ability to work independently, be flexible, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a part-time, hybrid or remote environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate the organization's mission to clients, partners, and donors.
- Outgoing, people-oriented professional who builds relationships easily.
- Self-motivated "go-getter" who does not require constant direction.
- Mission-driven leader with the ability to grow the role through performance, initiative, and funding development.
Pay:
$30.00- $35.
