Wyomissing, PA Position Overview CASA of Berks County is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Executive Director to manage our growing organization. The Executive Director will support key management, administrative, financial and strategic growth functions while helping strengthen the organization's capacity to serve children in the Berks County child welfare system. About CASA of Berks County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Berks County recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who advocate for children involved in the child welfare system. Our volunteers ensure that every child has a voice in court and that their best interests remain the priority as they navigate complex systems. CASA works closely with the courts, child welfare agencies, families, and community partners to ensure children achieve safe, permanent, and nurturing homes. The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of and CASA of Berks County and is responsible for management of the staff, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. In a small nonprofit environment, the ED plays both a strategic and hands-on role, balancing high-level visionary leadership with day-to-day operational execution. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Governance Board Collaboration:
Work closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization's mission, providing regular, transparent updates on financial health, program metrics, and operational challenges. Strategic Planning:
Lead the development and implementation of a long-term strategic plan that aligns with the organization's mission and community needs. Policy & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing 501(c)(3) organizations. 2. Fundraising & Financial Management Revenue Generation:
Develop and execute a diverse fundraising strategy, including individual donations, corporate sponsorships, annual campaigns, and special events. Grant Writing & Management:
Identify grant opportunities, write compelling proposals, and ensure rigorous reporting compliance for awarded funds. Fiscal Oversight:
Manage the organization's budget, oversee daily financial operations (invoicing, bookkeeping coordination), and present comprehensive financial reports to the Board. 3. Operations & Program Management Program Delivery:
Oversee the administration and execution of all core programs, ensuring they deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with the mission. Staff & Volunteer Leadership:
Recruit, manage, and inspire a small team of staff and/or volunteers. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and productive work environment. Infrastructure:
Maintain the day-to-day administrative operations, utilizing technology and systems to maximize efficiency with limited resources. 4. Community Engagement & Communications Ambassadorship:
Serve as the primary spokesperson and face of the organization to the media, public, and stakeholders. Partnership Development:
Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, partner organizations, and local government entities. Marketing & Public Relations:
Oversee the organization's digital footprint, including the website, newsletters, and social media, to elevate brand awareness and engagement. Qualifications & Skills Experience:
3-5+ years of leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit setting (experience in a small or grassroots organization is a significant plus). Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Fundraising Track Record:
Proven success in securing diversified funding, writing successful grants, and cultivating donor relationships. Financial Acumen:
Strong budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting. Communication Style:
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; a natural storyteller who can passionately articulate the organization's mission. Adaptability:
Highly resourceful and entrepreneurial; comfortable wearing multiple hats and shifting seamlessly between administrative tasks and strategic planning. Benefits & Compensation Salary Range:
