Second Wind Foundation, Upper Valley Turning Point Peer Recovery Center, is seeking an Executive Director to serve as our leader and public representative in Wilder, Vermont. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will guide strategic planning, financial stewardship, staff management, and community partnerships — while modeling the peer-recovery values at the heart of our mission. This is a multi-site role spanning an office, peer recovery center, and two recovery housing locations, reporting to the Board President. This is a rare opportunity to shape recovery-oriented services and make a lasting impact in the Upper Valley. What you will do Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the organization's strategic vision. Serve as the public face of Second Wind Foundation through outreach, presentations, and community engagement. Oversee day-to-day operations across the recovery center and housing sites. Manage the annual budget, financial reporting, cash flow, payroll, and bookkeeping. Lead fundraising, write grant proposals, and identify new funding opportunities. Supervise, recruit, evaluate, and support staff; assess organizational staffing needs. Maintain compliance with all legal, contractual, and Recovery Partners of Vermont standards. Build and sustain partnerships with healthcare, social service, housing, and justice system organizations. Assess community needs and develop or adapt programs accordingly. Foster a safe, inclusive, trauma-informed environment where all voices are respected. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in social services
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising staff and managing budgets.
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and financial oversight
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency on-call coverage; option to work from home one day per week.
  • Lived experience in recovery is valued. Candidates with this experience should demonstrate sound judgment, and the ability to lead staff, manage operations, and serve as role models in the recovery community.
  • Knowledge of peer support philosophy and recovery-oriented systems of care preferred.
  • Familiarity with social service and recovery networks in the Upper Valley

Board of Directors Compensation & Benefits:
Second Wind Foundation offers a generous comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision insurances, 3% match on Simple IRA, 10 paid holidays, generous paid time off. The new Executive Director's starting annual salary has a range between $80,000 and $100,000 depending on experience.

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
