Minnesota (work remote with occasional in person community events) About Us Family Voices of Minnesota is a family-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families of children and youth with special health care needs and disabilities. We work to ensure that families have the tools, resources, emotional support and voice they need to navigate systems of care and advocate for their children. (learn more about us at www.familyvoicesmn.org ) Position Overview Family Voices of Minnesota seeks a dynamic, mission-driven, thoughtful and collaborative Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director is responsible for overall strategic leadership, operational management, financial sustainability, and community engagement. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, families, and partners to advance the organization's mission. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction aligned with the organization's mission and goals
- Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-term plans
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization while remaining grounded in the voices and experiences of families Operations & Administration
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring effective program delivery and organizational efficiency
- Establish and maintain clear systems, timelines, and internal communication practices to support organizational effectiveness
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff with a focus on clear expectations, professional growth, and staff well-being
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and funding requirements Financial Management & Fundraising
- Develop and manage the organization's budget and financial resources
- Lead and support fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing and events
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, foundations, and community partners Programs & Community Engagement
- Strengthen and expand programs that support families of children with disabilities
- Engage with families and stakeholders to ensure programs are responsive and impactful
- Represent the organization in local, state, and national networks Qualifications
- Proven experience in nonprofit administration or executive leadership
- Strong background in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, and resource development
- Demonstrated experience working with and knowledge of the needs of children with disabilities and their families
- Understanding and commitment to peer-to-peer and family-led support models
- Knowledge of state and national disability services; including financial, educational and social services for children, youth and young adults and their families
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing budgets and overseeing organizational operations
- Experience working with diverse communities and promoting equity and inclusion Compensation & Benefits
