As the founding Executive Director, you will shape the vision, strategy, and long-term impact of a new statewide membership association. In partnership with leading philanthropic and nonprofit institutions, this role offers a unique opportunity to build an organization that advances policy, fosters collaboration, and elevates the nonprofit sector statewide. Position Summary The founding Executive Director serves as the chief architect and voice of Nevada Nonprofits, responsible for building the organization, advancing its strategic priorities, and positioning it as a trusted statewide leader. This role requires a strategic and entrepreneurial leader who can translate vision into action, build strong cross-sector relationships, and deliver meaningful value to members while ensuring long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities Strategic LeadershipDevelopment Define and execute the Association's vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes in partnership with the Steering Committee Build a scalable organizational model aligned with long-term impact Identify and respond to trends, risks, and opportunities across the nonprofit sector External LeadershipAdvocacy Serve as the primary spokesperson and represent the sector with policymakers, funders, and community leaders Advance a public policy agenda that strengthens nonprofits Build strategic partnerships that expand influence and impact MembershipEngagement Grow and engage a diverse statewide membership Ensure a strong and relevant value proposition for organizations of all sizes Facilitate connection, learning, and collaboration across the sector FinancialOperational Leadership Oversee financial strategy, budgeting, and diversified revenue development Lead fundraising efforts in partnership with the Steering Committee Establish effective systems, processes, and performance measures Build and lead a high-performing team and organizational culture QualificationsLeadership Profile The ideal candidate is a mission-driven executive leader with strong strategic, relational, and operational capabilities. 10+ years of experience in relevant roles in nonprofits, governments, or trade associations, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role Demonstrated success building or leading organizations, initiatives, or coalitions Demonstrated success in public policy or campaign activities Strong business acumen and experience generating diverse revenue streams Strong understanding of nonprofits Experience working with boards or governance bodies Willingness to travel statewide and attend occasional evening/weekend events
