This leadership role involves guiding the strategic direction of the organization, supporting its mission, and ensuring effective governance. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in management, social work, or related fields, along with excellent communication and leadership skills. As a Board Member, you will play a vital role in shaping programs, fostering community engagement, and promoting organizational growth. Duties Provide strategic oversight and governance to ensure organizational effectiveness and sustainability Participate actively in board meetings, committees, and organizational planning sessions Assist in fundraising efforts, including leveraging social media platforms and community networks Support volunteer management initiatives, including campus recruitment and volunteer training & development Utilize tools such as Salesforce for donor tracking and relationship management Promote the organization's mission through public speaking engagements and community outreach Oversee social media management to enhance visibility and engagement Supervise staff or volunteers involved in program delivery or administrative functions Contribute to policy development, program evaluation, and organizational compliance
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
Proven experience in management, social work, or nonprofit leadership Strong background in volunteer management, recruiting, and training & development Experience with Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms is highly desirable Demonstrated success in campus recruitment or community outreach initiatives Supervising experience with teams or volunteers in a social work or organizational setting Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to represent the organization confidently Leadership experience with a track record of motivating teams and managing projects effectively Familiarity with social media management strategies for nonprofit organizations Prior involvement in social work or community service roles is preferred
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or accounting or a related field. Experience serving in a Board of Directors role is preferred. Commitment :
4-6 hours monthly. Attendance at board meetings every 2nd Monday monthly.
