Job Description

Executive Director The Muslim Community Center for Human Services (MCC) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization providing medical and social services to indigent residents of North Texas. It offers medical and mental health services through the Al-Shifa Clinic which is open six days a week. The social services program offers individual and family counseling and counseling to victims of domestic violence. The center is partially funded by federal grants and corporate funding. 70
  • 80% of the funds are generated from the community through fundraising events and personal contacts
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Managing MCC's 3 major operations
  • clinic, social service programs and educational programs including hiring and firing of the staff
  • Managing the day-today operations of the organization
  • Creating and managing the budget of the MCC
  • Approving time sheets, vacation and leave time for staff
  • Annual evaluation of office staff
  • Engaging with volunteers to provide services at the clinic, social service programs and fundraising events
  • Preparing and submitting plans and projections for various programs and projects.
  • Attending regular meetings of the Executive committee and The Board of Directors
  • Must be responsible to Chairman and Board of directors of
MCC Fundraising Activity:
  • Must be responsible for generating funds for the budget of MCC
  • Planning, organizing and facilitating fundraising activities and events, such as dinners and entertainment programs.
  • Searching for and completing grant applications for funds from federal, state, local and private funding sources.
  • Soliciting funds from individuals, foundations and govt. grants
  • Securing donations from individual donors such as businessmen, physicians, etc and provide them with relevant information and responding to donor inquiries with accurate and timely information.
Networking Activity:
  • Representing MCC in a public relations capacity to create relationships between MCC and other organizations
  • Healthcare and social welfare agencies
  • Contacting religious centers to develop liaison
  • Contacting area physicians and community leaders
  • Creating the regional calendar of events
Marketing and Educational Activity:
  • Scheduling and delivering presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds, corporations and foundations
  • Arranging educational programs on medical, mental health and social issues with the help of medical and social service staff Requirements
  • Must have Master's Degree and experience in healthcare, social services and nonprofit organization is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must show ability to research the availability of grants and write the grants.
  • Experience in grant writing and fundraising preferred.
  • Familiarity with technology and social media marketing
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to interact effectively and communicate well with a variety of community members
  • Experienced in working with grass-roots organizations and volunteers
  • Energetic with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, strong willingness to initiate deadlines and time frames for assignments and to follow up on all delegated activities
  • Desire to work for humanitarian cause Must be highly motivated individual requiring minimal supervision.
Salary negotiable depending on qualification and experience There will be a 90-day probationary period after initial hire.
