Through safe housing, supportive services, and a community-centered approach, Nia Imani Family works to create pathways toward stability, independence, and long-term success for the families it serves. Rooted in cultural awareness and community connection, the organization is committed to providing a supportive, empowering environment where women and families can rebuild and thrive. Position Overview Nia Imani Family is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Executive Director to lead the organization through a critical period of stabilization and growth. This role is ideal for a leader who is both mission-driven and results-oriented , with the ability to strengthen operations, build sustainable funding streams, and lead a small but impactful organization with clarity and accountability. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization is financially stable, operationally sound, and aligned with its mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership Provide strategic and operational leadership to the organization Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring program quality and consistency Lead and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration Fundraising & Development (Critical Priority) Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and partnerships Build and maintain a strong funding pipeline to support organizational sustainability Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors Financial & Operational Management Oversee organizational budget, financial planning, and resource allocation Ensure compliance with all nonprofit, legal, and regulatory requirements Strengthen systems, policies, and internal processes as needed Community & Stakeholder Engagement Build relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders Serve as a visible and engaged representative of the organization Advocate for the needs of women and families served by the organization Board Partnership Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors on strategy and governance Provide regular updates on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience in fundraising and development , including securing grants, donor engagement, or partnership funding Experience in nonprofit leadership or senior-level management Strong organizational and operational leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment Experience working with or serving vulnerable populations (e.g., housing instability, social services, community-based programs) Strong communication and relationship-building skills Preferred Qualifications Experience leading or supporting organizations through periods of transition or growth Background in housing, social services, or related fields Experience managing budgets and overseeing financial operations Familiarity with Milwaukee's nonprofit and community landscape Experience working in culturally-centered or community-based organizations What We're Looking For We are seeking a leader who is: Mission-driven and deeply committed to the population served Results-oriented, with a focus on sustainability and impact Comfortable with both strategy and hands-on execution Collaborative, transparent, and accountable Able to build trust with staff, board members, and the community How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role to .Pay:
