Operations Specialist or Officer

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Branch Operations Specialist or Branch Operations Officer for a direct hire opportunity with a respected banking and consumer lending organization in Santa Barbara, CA. This role is ideal for a banking operations professional who enjoys leading branch teams, supporting excellent client service, maintaining strong compliance standards, and helping drive branch growth. The Operations Specialist or Officer will support the Branch Manager in daily operations, staff development, customer service, account review, transaction approvals, and regulatory adherence. The role offers exposure to both operations leadership and client relationship management, with responsibilities aligned to experience level. Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily branch operations, including staff scheduling, teller support, new account review, file maintenance, exception reporting, and operational documentation.
• Support a positive client experience by resolving escalated service concerns, advising clients on account activity, and maintaining professional, solutions-focused communication.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, branch certification requirements, security controls, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.
• Provide operational guidance, coaching, training, and performance support to branch employees, including Client Service Representatives and New Account staff.
• Partner with the Branch Manager on customer retention, branch goals, promotional activities, business development, and deposit growth initiatives.
• Approve transactions within assigned authority limits, provide supervisor overrides, and manage required operational reports by established deadlines. Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation:

  $25 to $39.13 per hour.

• CRA volunteer requirement: Minimum of 10 volunteer hours per year, typically scheduled during business hours.

This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed.
