Job Overview:
The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of the Mubea Best Process / Mubea Production System. Leading and deploying lean methodologies, operational excellence initiatives and best practices throughout a business unit to reduce waste and continuously improve cost, productivity, lead time, safety and quality aspects within a plant. Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Leads plant teams in the implementation of lean manufacturing practices including but not limited to Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.
  • Provides training to associates in lean methodologies and foster involvement of all associates in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leads 5S efforts for orderly plant and office housekeeping.
  • Supports plant by ensuring employee safety and ergonomic conditions prior to implementing improvement projects.
  • Identifies and implements cost reduction activities as assigned to meet the company's goals.
  • Recommends improvements to the manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, and engineering processes.
  • Provides status reviews regarding continuous improvement efforts and removes obstacles to assure improvements are achieved and sustained.
  • Responsible for the plant role out of all lean tool implementation (i.e. Standardized Work, A3 Problem Solving, Change over Reduction, TPM, etc...).
  • Supports process and plant layout, including work center material flow.
  • Implements reduction of material moves and inventory levels based on material flow planning.
  • Administer and prepares operational and continuous improvement reporting as required by the plant, regional and global managers. (I.e. Operational & CIP Implementation Scorecards, Plant Appearance Audits, Lean Assessments, etc…)
  • Performs plant lean assessments and manages the closure of open issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
  • BS Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with Automotive focus
  • 5 + combined years of experience in a lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality, or engineering in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Previous lean manufacturing and project management experience
  • Technical knowledge of the lean manufacturing systems and tools (i.e. 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Work Balancing, Standard Work, TPM, SMED, etc…)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Self-starter, able to juggle multiple tasks, strong organization, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft word
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • BS Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with Automotive focus
  • 5 + combined years of experience in a lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality, or engineering in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • 2+ years of experience as a lean practitioner
  • Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization
