Job Description

AMI Operations & MDM Analyst I Location:
Meridian, MS Contract- 6 Months Client- Mississippi Power Position Overview We are seeking an experienced AMI Operations & Master Data Management (MDM) Analyst to support the operation, optimization, and integrity of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate metering data, reliable system performance, and regulatory compliance across utility operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AMI technologies, data management, and utility system integration. Key Responsibilities AMI System Operations Oversee daily operations of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) including: Smart meters Communication networks Data collection systems Data storage platforms Support meter deployment planning and coordination. Monitor system health and performance metrics. Master Data Management (MDM) Maintain and manage master meter data including: Meter IDs Customer account information Metadata and configuration details Implement data validation and quality control processes. Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze metering data to identify: Anomalies Usage trends Optimization opportunities Develop dashboards and performance reports. Support data-driven operational improvements. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Investigate and resolve hardware and software issues. Minimize downtime and ensure system reliability. Coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and vendors. Security & Compliance Implement security measures to protect AMI data. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry guidelines. Support cybersecurity best practices for metering systems. Integration & Collaboration Partner with billing, customer service, and operations teams to integrate AMI data into business processes. Work with vendors to procure and maintain AMI equipment and software. Support system upgrades and enhancements. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction. Contribute to system modernization initiatives. Train internal teams on AMI system usage and best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in: Engineering Information Technology Computer Science Related field Several years of experience in: AMI operations Meter data management Utility system support Strong understanding of AMI technologies and communication protocols. Experience with data management and validation processes. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in electric, gas, or water utility environments. Knowledge of utility regulatory standards.
Experience with:
Meter Data Management (MDM) platforms Utility billing systems SCADA or distribution management systems Project management experience supporting AMI deployments.
