Job Description

Company Description FOODMatch is looking for a motivated, curious, and detail-oriented intern to join our team for the summer, from early June through August 15th. This internship is a great opportunity for a student interested in business operations, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration within a growing food manufacturing and distribution company. FOODMatch is a producer and importer of Mediterranean specialty foods with a focus on olives, antipasti, and ingredients. Founded in 1996, FOODMatch has built a reputation for traditionally and responsibly crafted products, partnering closely with growers and producers to ensure exceptional quality throughout every step of the production process. Through the hands of our growers, we create great tasting, responsibly produced, authentic foods that nurture community and enhance quality of life. Job Description The intern will support projects focused on evaluating business processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, improving standardization, and helping teams operate more efficiently across functions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to different areas of the business while contributing to meaningful operational initiatives. What You'll Support Assist in evaluating, mapping, and documenting current business processes and workflows Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and operational efficiency Support AI-based process improvement initiatives; projects may include workflow automation, customer service chatbot/agent development, or AI-enabled knowledge tools Partner with cross-functional teams to better understand workflows, challenges, and business needs Help organize information, analyze data, and support continuous improvement initiatives Create presentations, process documentation, summaries, and reports Participate in meetings and contribute ideas and recommendations Qualifications What We're Looking For Curious mindset and strong willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and process-oriented thinking Self-starter with a proactive and solutions-oriented attitude Open-minded, adaptable, and comfortable asking questions Excited to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and hands-on environment Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Interest or familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies is a plus Additional Information Preferred Background Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related field Interest in process evaluation, operational efficiency, continuous improvement, or business transformation initiatives This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, gain exposure to real business operations, and contribute to projects that help improve how the organization operates and collaborates.
