Position Description:
Project/Continuous Improvement Manager This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the center of the organization's transformation journey. With direct reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this position offers unique exposure to corporate leadership and the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide initiatives that shape the future of the business. The Project / Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance, optimize processes across the enterprise, and support strategic growth objectives. This role partners closely with functions across the business and serves as a critical contributor to the ongoing governance of the Value Creation Plan (VCP).
Primary Duties:
Project Leadership Lead capital, process improvement, and operational projects from concept through implementation Partner with Engineering and Operations on equipment, layout, and process optimization when needed Manage timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables across complex initiatives Ensure projects align with production goals, safety standards, customer requirements and business priorities
Continuous Improvement:
Lead Lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work Identify and eliminate waste, including downtime, scrap, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks Facilitate root cause analysis using tools such as Fishbone diagrams and 5 Whys Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the site
Operational Performance & Metrics:
Review KPI's across the business and use the data to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities Report progress, insights, and results to leadership upon request Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a bridge between all functions across the business Influence and drive accountability across teams without direct authority Support frontline leaders in implementing and sustaining process improvements Change Management & Implementation Lead deployment of new processes, systems, and tools Partner with training department to ensure adoption of improvements Ensure improvements are standardized, documented, and sustained over time
Success Metrics:
Support achievement of targets to improvement in the strategic plan (X matric) Deliver continual progress of VCP per plan details Adoption and sustainability of continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements Experience & Skills:
Required Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or Business 5-8+ years of experience in manufacturing, project management, or continuous improvement roles Experience working directly with production teams and engineering functions Preferred Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt strongly preferred) Experience in power systems, electrical manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments PMP or project management certification or experience overseeing large strategic initiatives Core Competencies Strong operational mindset with understanding of shop floor dynamics Analytical problem-solving using data and root cause methodologies Ability to influence and lead across all levels of the organization Strong execution focus with accountability for results Continuous improvement mindset with a drive to challenge the status quo Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity Tools & Methodologies Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) Data analysis tools such as Excel or Power BI Process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucid chart
