Job Description

Role Description We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy undergraduate student to join our Sales Operations team for an 8-10 week summer internship. In this role, you will play a hands-on part in modernizing how our team works by identifying manual, repetitive processes and replacing them with intelligent, AI-powered solutions. You will work directly with sales operations staff to understand current workflows, then design and implement automations using tools such as Claude (Anthropic), Zoom AI Companion, and Smartsheet. This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience at the intersection of business operations, data analysis, and emerging AI technologies.. This is a hybrid role based in our San Jose office, with an expected in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday to foster collaboration with the Sales Operations team. Location You will be based in San Jose, Bay Area, CA.
What you will be doing:
  • Audit existing Excel-based workflows and identify high-impact opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Design and implement AI-assisted solutions using tools such as Claude, Zoom AI Companion, and Smartsheet to replace manual data entry and reporting tasks
  • Build and maintain automated dashboards, trackers, and reporting templates in Smartsheet
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations team members to gather requirements, test solutions, and iterate based on feedback
  • Document new processes, workflow diagrams, and user guides to support adoption across the team
  • Present findings and a final project summary to Sales Operations leadership at the conclusion of the internship
  • Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests as needed
What You'll Learn:
  • Practical experience applying AI tools to real business problems in a professional setting

  • Project management skills: scoping, prioritizing, and delivering in a defined timeframe
  • Stakeholder communication and requirements gathering
  • Best practices for workflow automation, data integrity, and process documentation What you should have:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Junior or Senior standing preferred) in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data organization)
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and enthusiasm for learning new technologies quickly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred:
  • Prior experience with SmartSheet
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Zoom AI Companion, or similar) as well as Salesforce CRM
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization or business intelligence concepts Pay & Benefits For this role, the estimated hourly range is between $20-$25.
The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
