If that resonates, keep reading… What you'll Own This role is the operational backbone of our company. You will be responsible for aligning people, processes, and projects across the full design-build lifecycle. As Director of Design-Build Operations, you will lead and integrate all aspects of project delivery across both our design and construction divisions—from initial design development through estimation, construction execution, and project closeout. You will serve as one of our central points of accountability for project outcomes—ensuring alignment between design intent, construction execution, budgets, timelines, and client expectations. This includes driving coordination across teams, maintaining operational clarity, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution at every stage. This role is critical to the continued growth and evolution of B.A. Worthing, Inc. You will play a key role in strengthening our systems, supporting our team, and helping us scale—while ensuring every project reflects our commitment to quality, integrity, and a seamless client experience. You will be the integrator of our design-build process—ensuring that vision, execution, and experience remain aligned from start to finish. 1. Lifecycle Ownership & Project Delivery Own the full lifecycle of all projects from preconstruction through completion Ensure alignment between design intent, budget, schedule, and execution Establish and enforce project delivery standards across all phases Identify risks early and proactively implement solutions Maintain accountability for overall project performance, including timeline, budget, and quality 2. Design Division Leadership Lead the performance and execution of the design division Oversee schematic design direction and progress to ensure alignment with project objectives Manage drafting team structure, workload distribution, and output quality Ensure all plans meet company standards for accuracy, code compliance, and constructability 3. Preconstruction & Estimation Leadership Direct estimation and proposal workflows Lead coordination between design and construction during preconstruction Review subcontractor proposals for scope alignment and accuracy Oversee preparation and final review of all client-facing proposals 4. Construction Operations Oversight Provide high-level oversight of all active construction projects Support Project Managers and serve as escalation point for complex challenges Ensure consistent execution aligned with company standards for quality and professionalism 5. Client Experience & Communication Maintain high-level oversight of client relationships across all phases Ensure clear, proactive, and professional communication Support key client interactions and uphold the company's reputation for integrity and quality 6. Team Leadership & Organizational Development Lead, mentor, and support design and construction teams Establish accountability structures and performance expectations Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment 7. Operational Systems & Process Improvement Design and implement scalable systems to improve efficiency and consistency Refine workflows across design, preconstruction, and construction Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement Support adoption of tools, technology, and best practices What You Bring Strong experience in design-build, residential construction, or similar A deep understanding of both design and construction workflows The ability to lead people while also staying close to the details A natural inclination toward organization, clarity, and follow-through Strong communication skills—clear, respectful, and proactive A mindset of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement How Success Is Measured Clean concise architectural designs with accuracy and compliance Projects delivered on time and within budget Accurate estimates and well-aligned preconstruction planning Strong coordination between design and construction teams High client satisfaction and repeat/referral business Improved systems, efficiency, and reduced project friction What It's Like to Work Here We're a family-owned business, and that shows up in how we treat people.

Compensation includes:
Estimated Compensation Range:
$110,000 - $150,000 + (base salary + performance incentives), depending on experience and demonstrated capability
