401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discounts Health insurance Regional Operations Manager Summary This role serves as a conduit between executive stakeholders and cafes, ensuring that Bird Rock Coffee team members and their customers have a positive, enjoyable, and delicious cafe experience. This role manages multiple cafes' schedules, hiring and separation of team members, provides feedback and corrective actions, and develops leadership within the cafes. This role guides the overall vision for each store under supervision, establishes benchmarks for cafe teams, and implements policies and programs to help those teams achieve their goals. This is a salaried role and not eligible for tips. Starting pay for this role is $71,000/yrResponsibilities Leadership:
Set goals for cafe staff, develop organizational capability, and model the work ethic of the company Create plans to support the execution of Leadership Team initiatives to achieve both operational excellence and business results. Follow up regularly to ensure cafe teams are held accountable to their specific goals Drive the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting cafe teams to develop and implement action plans that meet operational and organizational objectives Manage through unusual events to keep cafes operating to standard Be available to support cafes in person in the event of staffing shortage, technical or physical emergency Manage with honesty, integrity, and share knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate key responsibilities and practices to Retail Leads to ensure a smooth flow of operations within the cafes Review store environments and performance indicators within cafes to identify problems, concerns, and areas of opportunity in order to provide coaching, feedback, and reviews to cafe teams and to take action and achieve operational goalsPlanning and Execution:
Create cafe implementation plans to support operational excellence and business results. Follow up consistently to ensure accountability to plans Monitor and manage cafe-wide management staffing levels. Ensure that there is leadership development of Leads and Retail Leads to achieve and maintain cafe operational requirements Utilize existing tools to identify and prioritize communications. Filter communications to Retail Leads within cafes. Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective operations at the cafe levelBusiness Intelligence:
Ensure adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for nonexempt partners and minors Solicit customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community Utilize management information tools and analyze financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in cafe performance Drive the implementation of cafe labor percentage goals. Monitor data, audit cafe schedules, and assist cafe teams as needed to adjust to fluctuating market conditions Drive the implementation of cafe cost of goods percentage goals. Monitor data, audit cafe orders and waste, assist Retail Leads teams as needed to adjust to fluctuating market conditionsExecutive Summary Reporting:
Provide summaries of key metrics to BRCR Cafes' Teams Sales, labor, and product rolloutManager Development & Team Building:
Interview, hire and staff to meet cafe sales needs Build and manage cafe schedules to meet labor percentage goals Challenge and inspire cafe teams to achieve business results Develop and maintain positive relationships with cafe staff by engaging in check-in conversations, occasionally joining the team behind the bar, and having one-on-one meetings with Retail Leads Ensure cafe staff adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements Manage cafe-wide cafe teams by regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve performance. Manage ongoing performance using performance management tools to support organizational objectives Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs and by finding new, creative, and effective methods of recognition Manage corrective actions and team member separations as needed Utilize and demonstrate effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful team of store managers, resulting in an environment where they are valued and respectedQualifications Required Skills:
