Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the vehicle operations in a county or multiple counties. Responsibilities can include providing services directly with Paratransit service vehicles and personnel, as well as for brokerage operations. Plans, develops, and implements effective driver and vehicle operations for the area of operations. Coordinates maintenance and training of assigned staff with other Paratransit departments. Ensures that operators are operating courteously and in an efficient manner in accordance with quality objectives. To perform this job successfully, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
DUTIES:
Interview, recruit, hire, conduct new employee orientation, including paperwork completion, supervise, discipline, and evaluate drivers, dispatchers, customer service representatives, and clerical support staff. Ensures that vehicles are operating safely at all times and are scheduled for maintenance as appropriate. Coordinates driver training and vehicle availability with the appropriate departments. Ensures that all vehicle records, trip schedules, driver schedules, and other record systems are accurately maintained. Prepares annual budget for approval. Monitors and approves expenditures in accordance with the budget. Ensures that personnel records are maintained in accordance with organization policy and federal and state law. Ensures that all vehicles are operating safely and efficiently. Ensures that all customer complaints are noted and resolved. Schedules staff for assigned shifts. Provides guidance and mentoring to management trainees either as the primary training site or as a temporary trainee assignment location. Performs other duties as assigned. Works with Transit Agency and Political bodies to insure coordination and responsive transportation services which results to the customers.
SUPERVISES
Drivers, dispatchers, customer service representatives, operations supervisors, vehicle maintenance personnel, and clerical personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position performs work primarily in an office environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of transportation operations with a focus on paratransit. Knowledge and ability to prepare a budget. Working knowledge of computers and software and the ability to use. Knowledge of management/supervisory techniques. Ability to monitor and stay within a budget. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to manage/supervise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED. BS degree in transportation or equivalent plus five years of transportation experience, which included three years of supervisory experience and one year of paratransit experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Certifications and licenses as required. Budget preparation and budget management experience. Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, along with experience using Gmail, Google Drive, cloud-based systems, and operational software platforms. Salary Range is $ - $ per year, plus potential performance-based incentive compensation of up to 20% annually. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
