The Director, Regional Operations is the senior operating leader accountable for all work performed within the region, with full ownership of the regional P&L and accountability for safety compliance, quality, operational execution, workforce stability (attrition), and HR compliance. This role leads through branch operations leadership and drives consistent execution standards, performance visibility, and continuous improvement. While the Service organization reports to a separate leader, service work performed within the region is aligned via a dotted-line relationship to this role to ensure regional coordination, safety and training compliance, quality standards, customer outcomes, and performance reporting. This position establishes disciplined operating cadence, strengthens ERP/system adoption, enforces controls that protect margin (reducing leakage and rework), and serves as the primary interface between branch leadership and the executive team. The Director, Regional Operations presents monthly results to the executive team via Monthly MORs (Monthly Operating Reviews).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
P&L Ownership / EBITDA Delivery Own the regional P&L including revenue execution, gross margin performance, controllable operating expenses, and EBITDA contribution. Drive forecast accuracy, backlog visibility, and budget discipline; identify risks and implement corrective actions to deliver plan. Improve margin through labor productivity, job planning discipline, schedule adherence, reduced rework, and overtime controls. Partner with Finance to tighten operational inputs that impact financial results (job costing discipline, WIP/cost-to-complete, timely closeout/billing readiness). Operational Execution & Regional Operating Cadence Lead end-to-end regional execution across branches: weekly operating reviews, performance scorecards, job readiness, and production planning routines.Standardize execution processes:
job start readiness, materials planning, quality checkpoints, documentation, and closeout. Ensure traveling teams working within the region are supported, scheduled effectively, safe, and integrated into branch plans. Drive consistent customer communication and escalation management across branches. Safety Culture, Compliance & Training Enforcement Establish and sustain a safety-first operating culture and ensure adherence to safety programs and regulatory requirements. Ensure safety training and required certifications are completed, tracked, and enforced across branches and teams working in-region.Lead proactive field safety presence:
audits, toolbox talks, coaching, and corrective actions.Own incident response expectations:
investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective action plans, and follow-through. Quality & Customer Outcomes Own regional quality outcomes for all work performed in the region, including service outcomes via dotted-line partnership. Reduce rework, callbacks, warranty claims, and customer escalations through training reinforcement and process discipline. Implement and enforce inspection and documentation standards; ensure lessons learned are captured and scaled. People Leadership, Attrition, and HR Compliance Lead, coach, and develop branch level Ops Managers; enforce consistent leadership routines across branches. Reduce attrition through stronger onboarding, performance management, training reinforcement, and recognition/accountability systems. Ensure HR compliance across the region: policy adherence, required training completion, consistent timekeeping practices, and documentation. Support recruiting priorities for operational roles; ensure branches execute disciplined hiring and onboarding standards. Oversight of Service, Warehousing, Fleet, Facilities & Inventory (Accountable Through Others) Provide oversight and performance accountability for service coordination within the region (dotted-line influence), warehousing, fleet, facilities readiness, and inventory controls.Ensure inventory discipline:
receiving, storage standards, cycle counts/audits, shrink prevention, truck stock accountability, and material staging practices. Partner with Fleet/Facilities owners to ensure uptime, preventive maintenance compliance, and safe operating conditions in shops/warehouses/fabrication spaces. Identify constraints and drive cross-functional resolution (materials availability, capacity, asset readiness, facility limitations). ERP Discipline, Controls, and Performance Visibility Enforce disciplined use of ERP and operating systems to ensure accurate labor capture, job costing, materials usage, receiving, and closeout documentation. Partner with Finance and shared services to reduce billing leakage and prevent invoice discrepancies by strengthening operational controls (approvals, documentation, job closeout readiness). Build and maintain dashboards/KPIs for regional performance (margin, productivity, safety, quality, attrition, backlog, inventory accuracy, fleet/facilities readiness). Promote audit readiness and internal controls consistent with a growth-oriented, multi-site platform.Systems/Tools Expectations:
ERP experience required; Acumatica experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with AP automation/workflow tools (e.g., Stampli) is a plus in driving PO/receiving discipline and invoice accuracy. Executive Interface & Monthly MOR (Monthly Operating Review) Own regional MOR package: results vs plan, KPI trends, root causes, and corrective actions with owners and due dates. Present monthly to executive leadership with clarity, credibility, and accountability. Ensure action items are tracked and closed; escalate cross-functional blockers when needed.OTHER JOB DUTIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
8-12+ years of progressive multi-site operations leadership in field services, construction, industrial services, or similar environments Demonstrated ownership of a P&L with a track record of margin/EBITDA improvement Proven leader of leaders (branch operations leadership / managers) Strong safety leadership; experience enforcing compliance and training discipline Experience building operating cadence, SOPs, and performance accountability systems ERP experience required; Acumatica strongly preferred; AP workflow tools (e.g., Stampli) a plus Executive presence and ability to present performance and corrective actions in MORs Must reside within regionTRAVEL REQUIRED
