Full Job Description About Keen Ramps:
Keen Ramps is one of the leading skateboard ramp manufacturers in the United States. We design, manufacture, and install backyard ramps, custom skate features, event activations, commercial projects, and rental experiences for customers ranging from first-time skateboarders to professional athletes and global brands. We're a fast-growing, entrepreneur-led company that values creativity, craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a senior leader to become the operational backbone of the company and help scale our team, systems, and production capabilities.
The Opportunity:
This is not a desk job. We're looking for a hands-on operations leader who can manage people, improve systems, oversee production, drive accountability, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably. This role will serve as the direct right-hand to Founder & President Cory Keen and will eventually become the primary leader overseeing day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading meetings, walking the shop floor, visiting a job site, implementing SOPs, reviewing budgets, solving operational bottlenecks, and representing the company with customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Leadership - Lead daily operations across manufacturing, installations, rentals, and custom projects. Manage and mentor department leaders, including Production Manager and Shop Manager. Drive accountability, communication, and performance throughout the organization. Serve as a key decision-maker and escalation point for operational challenges. Work directly with ownership to execute strategic initiatives. Production & Quality Control - Oversee manufacturing workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ensure products meet Keen Ramps quality standards. Improve efficiency, throughput, and overall production performance. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions. Maintain a culture of safety and craftsmanship. Process Improvement Develop and implement SOPs, systems, and operational best practices. Track KPIs and operational metrics. Create scalable processes that support future growth. Improve profitability through smarter workflows and resource management. Project Management - Assist with custom project planning, estimating, and quoting. Coordinate labor, materials, vendors, and schedules. Help oversee installations, event builds, and rental activations. Occasionally work weekends during major events or installations. Company Leadership - Represent Keen Ramps professionally with customers, vendors, partners, and team members. Help cultivate company culture and employee development. Act as a trusted advisor and partner to ownership.
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
5+ years leading teams in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, production, event production, or a related field. Experience managing crews of 5-20+ employees. Strong understanding of scheduling, project management, and operational planning. Experience improving systems, workflows, and efficiencies. Proven ability to lead people and hold teams accountable.
Bonus Qualifications:
Carpentry or construction experience. Manufacturing or fabrication experience. Experience reading plans and estimating projects. College degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Operations, or related field. Passion for skateboarding, action sports, or building unique projects.
Who Will Thrive Here:
You may be a great fit if: You're naturally organized and process-oriented. You enjoy building systems and making teams more efficient. You can lead people without micromanaging them. You take ownership and solve problems before they become emergencies. You enjoy both strategy and execution. You want to help build something special rather than simply maintain the status quo.
What Success Looks Like:
Within your first year: Production runs more efficiently. Team accountability improves. SOPs and systems are documented and implemented. Quality control improves. Margins improve. Ownership spends less time managing daily operations and more time growing the business. If you're excited by leadership, operational excellence, and helping scale a unique company in the action sports industry, we'd love to hear from you.
