Position Overview The Manager, Field Service is a leadership-focused hybrid role responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supporting technician development, maintaining customer satisfaction, and driving sales growth within the Modesto market.
This position is structured as:
25% Field Work
  • Supporting technicians, handling advanced service calls, training, and customer escalations 50% Office / Leadership Responsibilities
  • Scheduling oversight, technician management, operational coordination, and KPI accountability 25% Sales & Business Development
  • Supporting estimates, commercial relationships, and revenue growth opportunities The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and the confidence to manage both field operations and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations Directly manage appliance repair technicians and plumbers within the Modesto market Support technician onboarding, training, ride-alongs, and performance coaching Monitor schedule efficiency, route optimization, and technician productivity Ensure technicians maintain professional appearance, communication, and service standards Assist with dispatch coordination and service escalations Field Support Perform advanced appliance repair or plumbing service work as needed Support technicians in troubleshooting difficult jobs or customer concerns Conduct job site inspections and quality assurance reviews Assist with warranty, commercial, and high-priority service calls Sales & Customer Development Support residential and commercial sales opportunities Build relationships with property managers, business owners, and commercial clients Assist with estimates, project bids, and maintenance agreement opportunities Promote Zip Club Membership and recurring maintenance services Administrative Responsibilities Review technician KPIs including revenue, close rate, callbacks, and customer satisfaction Coordinate with office staff regarding parts ordering, scheduling, and billing Ensure work orders, estimates, and job notes are completed accurately Participate in leadership meetings and operational planning
