This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for an operator who can move confidently between strategy and execution. The right candidate will be comfortable leading through district and store-level leaders, using data to identify performance gaps, building scalable systems, and ensuring consistent execution across the field. This position is ideal for a senior multi-unit retail leader who has successfully led teams across multiple locations, improved underperforming markets, developed field leaders, and created stronger operational discipline in a fast-paced retail or service-based environment. Key Responsibilities Lead field operations across multiple retail/service locations throughout Southern California. Drive company performance in sales, membership growth, labor execution, staffing, customer experience, retention, compliance, and operational standards. Lead, coach, and hold district managers, area leaders, and store managers accountable to clear performance expectations. Identify underperforming locations, diagnose root causes, and create practical action plans that improve results. Establish consistent field routines, store visit standards, accountability systems, and performance follow-up processes. Partner with executive leadership on operational strategy, staffing structure, training priorities, compliance execution, and company-wide initiatives. Conduct regular field visits to inspect standards, observe leadership execution, review KPIs, and remove operational roadblocks. Ensure locations are clean, well-run, properly staffed, consistently managed, and delivering a strong customer experience. Build bench strength by identifying, developing, and promoting future leaders at the store, district, and regional level. Improve manager effectiveness through coaching, accountability, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through. Support promotional rollouts, policy implementation, field communication, and operational changes. Use reporting, metrics, and field observations to make practical business decisions and drive measurable improvement. Partner cross-functionally with HR, training, payroll, marketing, finance, and ownership to ensure field execution aligns with company goals. What We're Looking For 7+ years of multi-unit retail, fitness, beauty, wellness, hospitality, or service-based operations experience. Experience leading district managers, area managers, store managers, or multi-location field teams. Proven success improving sales, staffing, labor execution, customer experience, manager performance, and operational consistency. Strong understanding of retail KPIs, field accountability, labor management, staffing models, and performance coaching. Ability to lead through other leaders, not just directly manage individual stores. Strong communication, follow-through, organization, and executive presence. Comfortable holding teams accountable while still building trust, credibility, and buy-in. Able to operate independently, solve problems quickly, and make sound decisions without constant direction. Confident reviewing performance data and turning metrics into clear action plans. Willing and able to travel regularly throughout Southern California locations. Strong judgment, professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential business matters. California employment compliance experience is required. The Right Fit You are not a passive "check-in" leader. You know how to inspect what you expect, identify what is not working, and create accountability until it is fixed. You are comfortable walking into a location, identifying operational gaps, coaching the manager and district leader, and creating a realistic plan to improve performance. You understand that strong operations require both people leadership and accountability. You can be direct, organized, fair, consistent, and solutions-oriented. You do not need a perfect corporate structure to get things done. You can help build the structure, improve the systems, and create stronger execution across the field. You are comfortable being highly visible in the field while also partnering with executive leadership on bigger-picture operational strategy. Compensation & Benefits This role offers a competitive executive compensation package, including a base salary of $140,000 annually , with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $60,000 annually in performance-based bonus compensation .
