Job Description

Manages, plans, organizes, directs and participates in the daily operations and functions of the court directly and/or through subordinate supervisors and/or support staff consistent with court policies; Monitors changes in legislation and mandates that impact court business, services and functions; implements the necessary changes in policies and procedures; and develops or arranges the attendance of staff training to address the legislative requirements; Conducts a variety of organizational and operational studies to support proposed modifications to Division programs; analyzes proposed legislation and administrative regulations for their impact on Division services, and ensures policies and procedures are implemented in accordance with the law, stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of court services; Ensures accurate Judicial Branch Statistical Information System (JBSIS) reporting in compliance with Judicial Council requirements; Directs retention and storage of records; monitors the dismissal of old cases and the destruction of records according to code provisions; Consults with the Court Executive Officer or designee in the formulation of departmental policies and interprets court policies and procedures to staff and the public; Performs management duties in consultation with the Court Executive Officer, including hiring, training and cross-training staff, prioritizing and assigning workload to meet expectations, conducting performance evaluations, participating in disciplinary actions and resolving employee grievances; Develops, monitors, evaluates, and verifies data entries and report processing of the court's case management system; Plans, organizes, and coordinates the development and implementation of training manuals and procedural manuals covering all areas of operations; Ensures adequate staffing coverage for offices, courtroom, and judicial service activities; Assists in preparing and administering areas of the court's budget; and Performs other duties as assigned.
