Job Description

Position Summary Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor/Director, the Radiology Imaging Coordinator oversees daily workflow and patient flow within the Radiology Department to help minimize patient wait times while maintaining high-quality patient care. This role supports imaging operations through coordination of procedures and biopsies, management of image flow, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care. The Coordinator also assists with PACS operations and provides administrative and technical support as assigned. Key Responsibilities Department Operations & Workflow Manage phone calls, patient images, and provide clinical support to staff as needed.

Coordinate radiology procedures and biopsy scheduling with physician offices and hospital departments.

Assist department leadership with workflow optimization and operational improvements.

Support efficient patient flow to enhance patient experience and reduce wait times. Policy, Quality & Compliance Assist with updates to departmental policies and procedures for approval by the Radiology Supervisor/Director.

Maintain compliance with departmental, organizational, and regulatory standards.

Support quality improvement initiatives within the department. PACS & Technical Support Support PACS and clinical leadership in managing image flow within the PACS system.

Assist with troubleshooting and coordination of radiology imaging workflows.

Provide support for radiology IT functions as needed. Customer Service & Communication Address patient and physician office concerns promptly and professionally.

Escalate unresolved issues to the Radiology Supervisor/Director in a timely manner.

Maintain positive working relationships with radiologists, physicians, technologists, students, patients, and co-workers.

Communicate effectively with clinical departments and external facilities. Required Qualifications Education & Certifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or equivalent medical experience required.

Knowledge of medical terminology required. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of radiology coordination or radiology support experience preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of HIS, RIS, and PACS systems preferred.

Radiology IT experience is a plus.
