Seibert Equity Co-Op Association is searching for a Feed Mill Operations Manager in Seibert, Colorado. This position oversees daily operations, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and prioritizing safety. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to foster a collaborative team environment. Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning and overseeing daily operations, including production scheduling, equipment management, and inventory control. Ensure that all products meet or exceed established quality standards (FDA). Conduct regular inspections and collaborate with warehouse staff to address issues promptly. Promote and enforce a safe working environment by following all OSHA regulations and company safety protocols. Participate in safety training and ensure all team members are adequately trained. Oversee a maintenance program that includes facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Ensure preventative maintenance is scheduled and sourced with attention to budget, safety, competitive advantage, and seasonal constraints. Identify and address mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including raw materials and finished feed, to meet production demands. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely ordering. Provide guidance and support to employees, assisting with training, scheduling, and performance feedback. Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes teamwork and continuous improvement. Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations, responds promptly to customer needs, resolves questions, complaints, and concerns immediately, and meets commitments. Collaborate closely with the sales team to meet client needs and resolve any production or delivery issues. Track and report on production metrics, including output, quality, downtime, and costs. Use data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions. Foster an environment focused on customer service. Serve as a resource to employees, addressing escalated customer questions and concerns with appropriate personnel promptly. Assist in the preparation of the budgets. Ensure that the annual budget is executed by the minimum amounts specified, prioritizing expenditures, and evaluating vendors for the long term and short term cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance quality. Lead initiatives to implement best practices and technological advancements. Ensure that record-keeping processes and analytical software (standard and custom) are utilized and maintained by staff to accurately track production, quality assurance, maintenance trucking records, and can efficiently provide the necessary documentation to management and regulatory agencies such as State agencies, FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc. Stay abreast of industry changes in management, technology, nutritional/formulation updates, state/federal/company regulations, etc. by attending/participating in area meetings/events and reading applicable farm/industry publications. Keep Seibert Equity Co-Op Association management and staff up to date on such issues. Arrange and conduct employee meetings and make presentations to various groups as requested. Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management. Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the company. Presents a clean and professional appearance. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance. Other tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor. Position Requirements and Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years feed mill experience is required A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions. This position may be exposed to various chemicals and grain dust. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Strong understanding of feed production processes, equipment, and maintenance needs. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
