Full-time Position Overview:

As the lead of Operations at Oakridge Creamery, this role's responsibility is to cultivate a high-performance workplace and workforce that excels in quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity. Whether in the plant, office, or warehouse, this position will work closely with all Oakridge teams to establish and maintain an exceptional workplace environment. Responsibilities include overseeing daily creamery operations and providing support to production managers, quality assurance personnel, plant operators, and warehouse operators. Additionally, a crucial job encompassed in this position is to maintain and uphold strong relationships with employees, customers, and vendors. The Operations Manager drives progress at Oakridge Creamery through data evaluation and the implementation of innovative concepts.

Oakridge Diary's growing creamery just launched a new product called "Moozy," the first ever fresh milk in a can. The dairy is a progressive, majority family-owned dairy operation based in Ellington, Connecticut, dedicated to producing high-quality A2A2 milk. Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy Serve as a key member of the leadership team, helping guide the company's big-picture strategy and direction Support and develop the management team, ensuring accountability and alignment with company goals Foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture built on strong relationships and communication Operations Oversight Oversee all daily creamery operations, including plant processing, warehouse, production planning, quality control, maintenance, and safety Assist across departments as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards Team & Communication Promote clear communication across the company regarding operations, goals, and ongoing projects Lead regular meetings with production teams, management, and individuals Support employee relations, recognition, and resolution of workplace challenges Systems, Processes & Efficiency Evaluate operational data and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs Develop, communicate, and maintain SOPs, protocols, and roles/responsibilities Research and implement new processes, equipment, and operational improvements Support new product development and expansion initiatives Financial & Resource Management Review financials to optimize cost of production Assess and approve capital expenditures, equipment purchases, and operational invoices Oversee operational software and systems

Qualifications:

Prior experience in food production or dairy processing preferred Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance Bilingual in Spanish preferred Proven leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team Strong problem-solving abilities with experience analyzing complex issues and implementing effective solutions Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute plans aligned with company goals Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams, stakeholders, and partners Willingness to work in a hands-on environment, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods
