In this role, you will oversee the efficient movement of freight and passengers, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and optimize routing and scheduling processes. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement in transit operations, leveraging advanced transportation management systems and analysis skills to meet organizational goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence transportation planning, streamline logistics, and enhance overall service delivery. Responsibilities Supervise daily transit operations, including dispatching vehicles and managing driver schedules to ensure timely service delivery. Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to plan routes, monitor shipments, and optimize fleet utilization. Coordinate with freight carriers, 3PL providers (third-party logistics), and shipping & receiving teams to facilitate smooth logistics workflows. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data for real-time tracking of vehicles, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety protocols. Conduct analysis of operational data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements in transportation planning and logistics. Oversee fleet management activities including maintenance scheduling, vehicle tracking via GPS, and compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate data entry using multi-line phone systems, AS400, Oracle Transportation Management, and other relevant platforms while ensuring high-quality communication with team members and stakeholders. Enforce phone etiquette, professional communication skills, and effective documentation practices across all interactions. Requirements Proven experience in transportation management, logistics, or related fields with strong analysis skills. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly preferred. Knowledge of
GIS, GPS
tracking technology, dispatching procedures, freight operations, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and maintain clear documentation. Strong data entry skills with proficiency in typing speed and accuracy; experience with AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus. Ability to analyze operational data effectively to support transportation planning decisions. Experience working with 3PL providers or in supply chain environments is advantageous. Must have Driver Endorsement Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
