Operations Supervisor Responsibilities:
Assist with the day-to-day management of transportation operations Support driver recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention efforts Monitor route performance and assist with service delivery improvements Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures Conduct driver observations, safety meetings, and coaching sessions Investigate incidents, accidents, and customer concerns as required Support attendance management and workforce planning activities Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and location leadership teams Assist with operational reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements Coordinate service recovery efforts and operational problem-solving Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers, customers, and school district partners Support special projects and other operational initiatives as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred 3-5 years of transportation, logistics, operations, fleet, or related management experience preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience required Strong communication, coaching, and employee relations skills Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications Experience working in union environments is a plus Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
