Midday, you refine drawings and finalize a plan set for submittal at the building department. By afternoon, you're on-site verifying installations against code, troubleshooting a service gear conflict, and coaching technicians on best practices. Before you wrap, you check progress metrics and update stakeholders so the next day runs smoothly. Role overview Rack Electric is hiring an accomplished Commercial Electrical Field Operations Manager to lead complex commercial and field installations from design through closeout. You'll blend hands-on field leadership with technical expertise—engineering assessments, load calcs, and plan production—to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution. What you'll oversee Direct commercial and field electrical projects to meet scope, schedule, and code requirements. Perform electrical engineering assessments, load calculations, and system layouts for diverse applications. Create, review, and submit electrical drawings and documentation to the building department for permits and approvals. Coordinate closely with project managers, electricians, and cross-functional partners to orchestrate installations. Conduct site walks to track progress, resolve issues in real time, and uphold safety and quality standards. Mentor and provide technical guidance to field teams and emerging leaders. Maintain current knowledge of local and national electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices. What you bring 10+ years of electrical experience with a strong focus on commercial and field projects. Deep proficiency in electrical engineering principles and load calculation methodologies. Fluency in reading, drafting, and submitting electrical plans for permitting. Working mastery of local and national electrical codes and regulatory processes. Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities. Clear, concise communication—written and verbal. Self-directed and collaborative; thrives in fast-paced, team-centered environments. Familiarity with electrical design/planning software is a plus.
