Job Description
Branch Manager
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn full P&L for the branch: develop budgets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions to meet financial targets.
Drive business development: identify and pursue new commercial accounts, build relationships with general contractors, property managers, architects, and designers.
Manage commercial flooring projects from pre-construction through closeout: coordinate estimating, scheduling, procurement, installation, and quality control.
Lead branch operations: implement standardized processes, maintain safety and compliance, manage inventory and equipment, and optimize workflows.
Supervise and develop staff: recruit, train, and mentor project managers, foremen, estimators, and administrative personnel; conduct performance reviews and create development plans.
Labor planning and resource allocation: forecast labor needs, create staffing plans, and manage subcontractor relationships to ensure on-time project delivery.
Oversee estimating and bidding: ensure accurate takeoffs, competitive pricing, and timely submission of proposals.
Client relationship management: serve as primary point of contact for key accounts, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Collaborate cross-functionally: work with corporate support teams (HR, finance, safety, procurement) to align branch activities with company strategy and policies.
Implement continuous improvement: identify operational efficiencies, cost savings, and process enhancements to improve branch performance.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience in commercial construction or flooring.
Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial flooring or commercial construction, including branch or operations management.
Demonstrated P&L responsibility with a record of delivering profitable branch performance.
Strong business development track record with experience winning and managing large commercial accounts.
Proven project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent commercial flooring projects.
Experience with estimating, bidding, and takeoffs for commercial flooring scopes.
Excellent operations management skills including scheduling, procurement, safety compliance, and inventory control.
Experience in labor planning and managing both direct labor and subcontractors.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to coach and develop teams.
Proficiency with construction management and estimating software; strong Excel skills.
Valid drivers license; willingness to travel within the branch region as required.
