JOB OVERVIEW
Under the general guidance of the Stewarding Manager, the Stewarding Supervisor supports the Stewarding Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the stewarding department. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout all kitchen and back-of-house areas while ensuring compliance with company standards, health regulations, and safety procedures. The Stewarding Supervisor will work closely with the Stewarding Manager to monitor operational areas, supervise team members and temporary labor staff, and ensure efficient execution of stewarding duties.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Stewarding Manager in coordinating and supervising daily stewarding operations. Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, dishwashing areas, storage rooms, waste disposal areas, and other back-of-house locations to ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation standards. Ensure all cleaning schedules and tasks are completed accurately and on time. Monitor the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment, dishwashing machines, and related tools. Support the implementation of departmental procedures and best practices Supervise stewarding associates and temporary labor personnel during assigned shifts. Provide guidance, training, and coaching to team members to maintain performance and service standards. Assist with onboarding and orientation of new stewarding staff and temporary workers. Foster a positive and productive work environment while promoting teamwork and accountability. Monitor the attendance, productivity, and performance of temporary labor staff. Ensure temporary workers understand assigned tasks, safety procedures, and performance expectations Provide feedback to the Stewarding Manager regarding temporary labor effectiveness and staffing needs. Address performance issues and escalate concerns as necessary. Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste and recyclables. Maintain compliance with local health department regulations and company policies. Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation issues promptly and follow up on corrective actions. Ensure proper loading dock trash procedures, discarding of trash and ensure cleanliness of garbage area. Assist with any banquet needs, supplying cleanliness, equipment and chinaware for events. We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual on the team to perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service. Qualifications
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 2 years of stewarding, kitchen sanitation, or related hospitality experience. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and workplace safety practices Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lead diverse teams, including temporary labor personnel. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other team members and departments Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English Must be able to work inside and outside at all times of the year as needed, based upon business volume Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. 1.
