Job Description

Position Title Officer, Cargo System Reporting To Executive, Property and Project Management Position Summary The role is responsible for managing and ensuring the availability, serviceability, and efficient utilization of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for MABkargo cargo operations. This includes maintaining accurate equipment inventory records, coordinating repairs and maintenance activities with vendors, monitoring maintenance timelines and quality standards, and conducting regular inspections to ensure operational readiness and compliance. The position also involves preparing reports, monitoring equipment performance, and providing recommendations to management to minimize operational disruptions, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous operational improvement. Key Accountabilities Responsible for ensuring the availability and serviceability of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to support smooth MABKargo operations. Maintain the serviceability of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Material Handling Cargo System (MHCS) machines, and weight scales. Comply with all Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements and any relevant company policies and procedures. Ensure all work complies with the requirements of statutory and regulatory bodies, such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Maintain and monitor the inventory of GSE, including forklifts, IHCA, dollies, airside blue cages, and slave pallets. Coordinate with vendors on equipment repairs and maintenance and monitor the progress and completion timelines. Ensure sufficient equipment availability and update the superior on any issues that may disrupt operations. Prepare daily reports on GSE availability and repair status for monitoring purposes. Conduct quality checks on repair and maintenance work completed by vendors before approving completion. Perform weekly warehouse inspections to monitor the condition, usage, and adequacy of GSE. Prepare recommendations and reports for operational improvements and equipment requirements. Liaise with superior on additional equipment needs and operational support requirements Qualifications Minimum SPM/SPMV/DVM or Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Logistics, Aviation Management, or related field Minimum 1-3 years of working experience in cargo operations, system support, or related operational environment Areas of Experience Knowledge of cargo management systems, operational systems, or airline cargo processes is an added advantage. Good understanding of cargo operations procedures and operational workflow Personality Traits Good communication and coordination skills with internal and external parties. Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
