Job Description

Job Title:
Director of Operations, PSM (Licensed in FLORIDA) GeoPoint is a land surveying company with multiple locations, specializing in land development, geomatics, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
Summary/Objective:
As a Director of Operations, PSM , you will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in geomatics and surveying, and the ability to effectively coordinate project teams and client relationships.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead and manage geomatics projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, laser scanning, GIS mapping, and other geospatial projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing client relationships, addressing inquiries, and providing regular project updates. Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, including survey crews, CAD technicians, GIS specialists, and administrative staff, ensuring project tasks are completed accurately and on time. Develop project budgets, schedules, and timelines; monitor project progress; and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve project goals. Conduct thorough quality checks on survey data, geospatial products, and project deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Interpret and apply land surveying regulations, zoning codes, and other regulatory requirements to ensure project compliance. Maintain organized project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and project reports, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project scope, schedule, and budget. Implement best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
B.S. Surveying or related field preferred. Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) license in the state of FLORIDA. Demonstrated experience in project/phase management. Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ORD Open Roads, MS Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members. Ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities. Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights. Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed. Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks. Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas. Experience moderate levels of noise indoors and outdoors. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required. Ability to thrive in both team-oriented settings and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
