_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML 22990 Bayonet Plumbing & HVAC New Port Richey, Florida Job Description About the Role Bayonet Inc. is seeking a results-driven Business Operations Supervisor to own the financial and operational performance of our HVAC residential replacement division. This is primarily a financial accountability role — the right candidate will live in the numbers, managing cost and profitability at the job level while ensuring our team consistently executes within budget. You will be responsible for tracking and controlling per-sale financials including labor costs, material costs, and gross profit margins on every replacement job. Beyond the numbers, you'll identify where we're losing margin, build the processes to fix it, and hold the team accountable to hitting targets. If you're someone who gets energized by digging into job-level data, tightening up cost controls, and driving measurable financial results — this role is built for you. Core Responsibilities Financial Performance & Job-Level Cost Management (Primary Focus) Own the per-sale P&L for every residential replacement job — tracking actual vs. budgeted labor, materials, and gross profit in real time Set, communicate, and enforce job-level cost budgets for labor hours, material spend, and subcontractor usage Analyze gross profit margins by job, technician, and job type to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities to improve profitability Review completed job financials daily/weekly to flag margin erosion, unapproved overruns, or pricing mismatches before they compound Partner with sales to ensure quoted prices accurately reflect true cost of labor and materials, and escalate misalignments Monitor overall division performance against revenue, gross profit, and cost targets — providing regular reporting to leadership Identify recurring cost overruns and drive root-cause resolution, whether through pricing adjustments, supplier renegotiation, or operational changes Manage equipment and material procurement processes to ensure competitive pricing and minimize waste or excess inventory Operations Management Oversee daily scheduling and dispatch to optimize technician utilization and minimize drive time and job delays Maintain accuracy in field service management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FieldEdge) — ensuring job records, time entries, and material usage are captured correctly for accurate job costing Coordinate with installation teams to ensure jobs are completed on scope, on time, and within approved cost parameters Develop and enforce standard operating procedures that support consistent, cost-controlled execution across all jobs Team Leadership & Accountability Supervise office coordinators, dispatch, and operational support staff Hold the team accountable to financial and operational KPIs through regular reviews, coaching, and clear performance expectations Train staff on cost awareness, job costing procedures, and the importance of accurate time and material tracking Foster a culture where hitting the numbers and delivering a great customer experience are equally valued Perform other duties as assigned Specific Qualifications What We're Looking For Required 3+ years of experience in an operations, business management, or financial oversight role — ideally in HVAC, home services, construction, or a related trades industry Strong command of job-level cost management: labor budgeting, material cost control, and gross profit analysis Experience reading and acting on job costing reports, P&L statements, or similar financial data Proven ability to identify margin problems, build accountability systems, and drive measurable improvement Proficiency with field service or job management software and comfort working in Excel/Google Sheets for financial analysis Clear, direct communicator who can translate financial data into actionable direction for field and office teams Preferred Hands-on experience with ServiceTitan or a comparable HVAC service management platform, particularly job costing and reporting features Background working directly in HVAC residential replacement — understanding of typical labor hours, equipment costs, and install workflows Experience managing material purchasing, vendor relationships, or procurement processes Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or equivalent practical experience How Success Is Measured The Business Operations Supervisor will be evaluated on the following metrics: Gross profit margin per job vs. target Labor cost as a percentage of job revenue vs. budget Material cost per job vs. quoted/budgeted amount Division-level gross profit attainment vs. monthly and annual targets Job costing accuracy and data completeness in service management software Reduction in cost overruns and margin variance quarter-over-quarter Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout office, warehouse, and job site environments for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods Ability to travel locally to job sites, warehouses, or vendor locations as needed Must be able to visually review reports, spreadsheets, and operational data with close attention to detail Work is performed in a combination of office, warehouse, and field environments with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions Frequent interaction with technicians, office staff, vendors, and customers in a fast-paced, deadline-driven operational setting May require occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work based on business demands Must be
