Job Description

Operations Manager (Plumbing Services) Fort Myers, FL area | On-site | 115k | Company vehicle provided A successful, fast-growing plumbing services company in the Fort Myers region is looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead field crews, keep jobs running smoothly, and make sure customers get quality work every time. This is a role for someone who knows the trade, understands the demands of field work, and can guide a team with confidence and respect. The company handles challenging commercial and residential jobs including trenchless repairs, pipe bursting, smoke testing, camera work, hydro-jetting, and large system issues. They are known for tackling the complex work other companies avoid.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations:
  • Oversee job scheduling, crew assignments, and workflow
  • Keep track of active jobs and step in to solve issues as they come up
  • Work closely with dispatch and office staff to keep communication clear
Crew Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate plumbing crews while keeping everyone accountable
  • Provide hands-on guidance, training, and support
  • Ensure jobs meet quality, safety, and code standards
Customer Interaction:
  • Help resolve customer concerns and make sure the job is done right
  • Support clear communication on estimates, timelines, warranties, and follow-up
Materials, Budget, and Equipment:
  • Manage job budgets and track profitability
  • Oversee tools, materials, and equipment needs
  • Work with suppliers to get reliable products at fair pricing
Process Improvement:
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies and help improve how work gets done
  • Stay up to date on plumbing codes, safety rules, and new technology
  • Support adoption of advanced tools like trenchless systems and camera inspection gear
Reporting:
  • Track and review productivity, job times, customer feedback, and team performance
  • Use data to help make operations more efficient
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of plumbing operations or field-service management
  • Strong leadership with the ability to hold crews accountable while earning their trust
  • Skilled plumber with hands-on field experience
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, and crew performance
  • Strong communication with field staff, office teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Familiar with plumbing codes, job safety, and proper work practices
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the service area
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with trenchless repair, hydro-jetting, commercial systems, or emergency work
  • Comfort using job management, CRM, and inventory systems
  • Background in improving workflows or fixing operational bottlenecks
