Job Description

SummaryThe Director of Operations - Systems, Planning & Procurement Management is a strategic, cross-functional role designed to integrate systems operations (ERP & MRP), production planning, and purchasing within the soft gel manufacturing facility. This position ensures alignment between material availability, production scheduling, and operational efficiency, supporting consistent output, cost control, and overall efficiency. Key ResponsibilitiesERP Subject matter expert (SME) Manage and optimize ERP/MRP systems for accurate production, inventory, and workflow data.

Serve as a central coordination point across operations.

Ability to use data to drive decision-making.

Ensure system data accuracy and reporting effectiveness.

Ensure inventory accuracy and turnover.

Coordinate cross-functional communication between production, supply chain, and quality teams.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Purchasing/ProcurementOversee purchasing of raw materials, packaging components, and miscellaneous items.

Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance.

Reduce material shortages and excess inventory.

Improve cost control through optimized purchasing and planning.

Establishes KPIs to evaluate supplier performance.

Scheduling/PlanningDevelop and maintain production schedules based on demand and capacity.

Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.

Adjust schedules to mitigate delays, maximize efficiency, and optimize throughput.

Improve production efficiency and workflow alignment.

Enable scalable growth in manufacturing operations.

Support regulatory compliance (GMP/FDA). QualificationsEducation and ExperienceProven experience in the dietary supplement industry.

Ability to help implement ERP functions and train others.

Has existing contacts/relationships with industry vendors.

Previous experience in scheduling in a Make-to-Order setting.
