Sanford, FL Job Details 20 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Outdoor work Customer complaint resolution Full Job Description The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all field operations for construction projects. This position provides leadership to superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. The General Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, ensuring efficient installation of precast concrete structures while maintaining compliance with all safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Leadership & Operations Oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Coordinate and supervise field foremen, and crews. Develop and implement project execution plans, schedules, and manpower forecasts. Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling, productivity, and operational challenges. Coordinate crane operations, rigging activities, and precast erection sequencing. Ensure all work is performed according to project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements. Participate in project planning meetings and provide field expertise during preconstruction activities. Work closely with project managers to maintain project budgets and schedules. Safety Management Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer requirements. Conduct regular jobsite inspections and safety audits. Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events. Assist with root cause analyses and implementation of corrective actions. Lead safety meetings and ensure proper documentation is maintained. Workforce Management Direct hiring, training, mentoring, and development of field personnel. Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and corrective action when necessary. Coordinate manpower allocations between projects. Ensure crews have the necessary tools, equipment, and resources to perform work safely and efficiently. Promote employee engagement, accountability, and teamwork. Quality Control Ensure precast components are installed according to engineered drawings and manufacturer specifications. Monitor workmanship to maintain company quality standards. Identify and resolve quality issues before they impact project schedules. Coordinate inspections with owners, engineers, and regulatory agencies. Ensure punch list items are completed in a timely manner. Client & Stakeholder Relations Maintain positive working relationships with clients, general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors. Attend project meetings and provide updates on field operations. Address customer concerns and resolve field-related issues promptly. Represent the company professionally at all times. Equipment & Logistics Management Coordinate delivery schedules for precast materials and equipment. Monitor utilization and maintenance of company-owned equipment. Assist with planning transportation, crane scheduling, and site logistics. Ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities. Effective planning, scheduling, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and access elevated work areas. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to travel frequently between project sites. Work Environment This position regularly works on active construction sites where exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, elevated work areas, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions is common. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
