The Opportunity:
- We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join our growing team.
The Operations Manager is responsible for first-line personnel management responsibilities including Safety, Environmental, Maintenance, Quality, Asset Performance Management, and Inventory Management. In this role, the Operations Manager targets and accomplishes high-level results and goals through the team, prioritizes and leads/manages activities in the most efficient means possible, collects data, monitors progress, manages issues, overcomes obstacles, accepts accountability, and leads/motivates the team. The Operations Manager will oversee operations, maintenance, and general labor staff. This position reports to the General Manager. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- + Develop, cultivate, and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring all established safety procedures and protocols in the plant are followed at all times.
+ Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly metrics including safety, production, and maintenance. + Drive production efficiency and utilization rates without compromising a safe working environment. + Create and maintain daily and weekly production plans that align with operational goals and objectives set by leadership. + Provide real-time feedback regarding maintenance and labor requirements to support budget planning and operational efficiency. + Communicate employee concerns or requests for information to leadership in alignment with HR policies and company guidelines. + Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- + High School Diploma or GED required; recycling or manufacturing industry experience preferred.
+ Ability to manage and support a diverse workforce, including equipment operators and general laborers, in a respectful and inclusive environment. + Ability to manage time and production schedules that are subject to change with short notice. + Attention to detail and ability to execute production plans to ensure quality standards are consistently met. + Strong understanding that safety is non-negotiable. + Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with routine equipment maintenance. + Strong work ethic and ability to follow through on operational goals. + Willingness to set standards and hold others accountable to those standards.
Required Skills:
- + Ability to identify problem areas and understand what success looks like.
+ Maintain knowledge of customer material specifications. + Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). + Familiarity with plant office functions. + Detailed knowledge of forklifts and skid steers. + Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level necessary to understand safety instructions, training materials, and job-related communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- + Working knowledge of the recycling industry.
+ Experience operating equipment associated with the recycling industry such as balers, shredders, guillotine cutters, and/or sorting systems. + OSHA training. + Experience or working knowledge of fiber grades in the recycling industry. + Experience with truck scales and related software. + Multi-lingual preferred to support communication with a diverse workforce.
