The Operations Supervisor is the liaison for Fort Benning, Camp Merrill, and Camp Rudder locations to include seven supervisors and 240 CBA/union employees. The Operations Supervisor will comprise union and human resource responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to fair hiring and work practices in accordance to federal labor laws. Responsibilities Consults with program line supervisors, providing HR and timekeeping guidance. Communicates with the headquarters Human Resource and Accounting Departments daily for all personnel actions. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing company risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Has extensive knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and ensures the company complies. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Types and processes disciplinary actions and termination for approval. Responds to grievances and fosters conclusions for the morale of the employee and the success of the company. Types vacancy job announcements, recruits' applicants via internal applicants on the program. Participates on all interview boards to assist the supervisors on the selections. Prepares all job offer requests and promotion paperwork for approval to ensure applicants are following the position requirements of the Eagle Matrix and the CBA. Communicates with qualified candidates for hire and requests documents necessary for hire during the on-boarding period. Sets up and conducts weekly new hire orientations, to include benefits brief and assists in the completion of all documents for the candidate. Overseer for the accuracy of the weekly entry of the payroll time for the employees utilizing the company paper time sheet. Works closely with prime contractor management, to ensure all employees are meeting the standards of the contract. Responsible for travel requests, to include hotel accommodations and per diem utilizing the company credit card. Creates or maintains a personnel filing system. Maintains a variety of weekly and monthly manning employee rosters, personnel status updates and hours worked rosters. Performs other duties and assignments as required. Ensure that all employees are treated equally, regardless of their gender, ethnic background, or disability. Assist Program in complying with federal regulations related to fair hiring and work practices.
Qualifications Education/Certifications:
High School diploma and five (5) years or related experience in Human Resources resolving employee relations issues or BA/BS degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related field preferred
Experience:
Basic knowledge of human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and labor relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state employment laws Payroll and time keeping involvement Working and building relationships with Union and familiar with labor relations
Skills & Technology Used:
Strong written and oral communication skills required. Must have superior public speaking, training, and email writing skills Proficient with personal computers required, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint Experience in defense contracting desired Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must have a valid state driver's license
