Role:
We're seeking a seasoned Plant Operations Manager to lead our team, optimise crushing & recycling processes, and ensure safe, efficient production of a wide range of aggregates and byproducts. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with deep experience in imp actor, jaw, cone crusher and green waste recycling operations who is ready to take full ownership of plant performance, personnel leadership and production quality. The right candidate will be mechanically savvy, results-driven and comfortable working alongside crew members in the field. They will be responsible for operating crushing & grinding equipment, troubleshooting issues and actively participating in daily production tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of impact, jaw, cone crushers, horizontal grinders, Trammel screeners and other various equipment to meet production goals Supervise, train and motivate a team of equipment operators, mechanics and labourers Schedule and monitor production of various aggregate types to meet customer and project specifications Monitor and improve plant throughput, up time and maintenance practices Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to minimise downtime Ensure proper maintenance of crushing equipment, conveyors, screens and supporting infrastructure Maintain a high standard of safety compliance and environmental responsibility Collaborate with ownership and other operational leaders to report on KPIs, costs and production targets Assist in long-term planning for equipment upgrades, staffing and growth
Requirements:
5+ years of experience managing or supervising crushing operations Expertise in impactor, jaw, and cone crushers and their operating systems Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a production setting Experience in producing a wide range of aggregate sizes and types Familiarity with preventative maintenance schedules and plant optimisation Ability to work long hours in outdoor, rugged environments Strong communication, organisation and reporting skills Valid driver's license; CDL is a major plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with crushing operations in remote or rural environments Knowledge of MSHA or OSHA compliance (certified preferred) Ability to manage budgets and production costs Proficient with production tracking software or digital reporting tools Familiarity with mobile crushing setups and the ability to manage operations at temporary job sites, including equipment mobilisation and site-specific setup and breakdown.
